UCL iGEM 2017 presents

LIT(Light Induced Technologies)

Our team has been developing applications for biological light switches, either engineered or found in nature. We standardised biological light switches for wider use in synthetic biology and showed how they can be used to print organs, build architectural structures and control bacterial light-bulbs.

We used biological light switches to design an organ printing system

Our bacterial light bulb controls its luminescence through a photosensitive protein.

Two optogenetic tools help us make 3D structures out of bacteria and produce biopolymers.
