Introduction of iGEM in the School Festival

2017 November/12
I participated in competition of presentation by Kobe University students which was held in the school festival of Kobe University, “Rokko-sai”.
We introduced synthesis biology and expressed our feelings when we took part in iGEM giant jamboree 2017.
We announced its intent to participate in iGEM for the first time and succeeded to make people interested in synthetic biology and make the competition iGEM better known among the Japanese students which is uncommon.
Our presentation is posted to YouTube and published all over the world.

Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference

The purpose of this Conference is an act of having a friendly argument beyond the boundaries of the field. We gave a poster presentation for 2 days.
We introduced this to people who are not familiar with science to the potential of synthetic biology through familiar theme about Japanese green tea.
We search for usefulness of our research with representatives from famous beverage manufacturers from the manufacturer's point of view

Introduction of iGEM in May Festival

We gave poster presentation to the people with other iGEM teams in Japan at May festival which is held by Tokyo University.
Various kinds of themes which many teams brought gathered, so various kinds of people became interested in our exhibition. At first the people only wanted to listen to their favorite presentation but they end up listening to all teams’ presentation. We succeeded to make the competition iGEM and synthesis biology to be better known.
We handed the pamphlets about iGEM and iGEMkobe to audiences.

Building iGEMkobe website in Japanese

To make iGEM more understandable and accessible for Japanese, we also created our website in Japanese.
There visitors of our site can know not only about our studies but also find links to our twitter account that entails our recent activities and an introduction of members to create a friendly approach.

Distribution of pamphlets about the Japanese tea

We made pamphlets about the Japanese tea under the supervision of Mr.Matsumoto (Master of farm work in “Teppen”) and his wife.

We documented the good health effect of Theanine, the way of pouring green tea, the processing method of tea and so on.
