About

This year the iGEM Evry Paris Saclay is developing a biosensor to help industries in their screening steps for protein engineering. We are proposing a system that will allow quick and inexpensive selection of the most efficient enzymes without requiring expensive machinery.

Context

In industrial bioproduction, protein engineering is mandatory to enhance the yields and stability of enzymes but it requires expensive processes and a lot of time to select the greatest protein.

Tanks to our screening system, we are trying to produce a rare, healthy and expensive sugar, the Psicose. This non-toxic sugar, as suggest FDA studies [3,4], seems to have several measurable health effects, like prevention of dental carries and a low energy intake all while retaining a sweet taste.
