Human Practice/Silver

1) Engaging the general public

Through the following activities, we constantly drove our project with a general viewpoint by exchanging opinions and discussions with non-professionals as well as professionals.

  • November Festival at Kyoto University 11/20/2015-11/24/2015
  • Kansai Forum 2/19/2016
  • May Festival at University of Tokyo 05/15/2016-05/16/2016
  • Asia Pacific Conference 07/31/2017~08/04/2017

2) Engaging professionals

We visited the Kyoto City Forestry Association and the Kyoto Osaka Forestry Association to listen to the measures taken in Kyoto City against pine-wilt disease and grasp the problems of the existing measures.
To see more details of "Discussion with Forestry Association" please click here.

3) Forest survey

In order to know the current situation of pine-wilt disease in Kyoto, we actually went to mountains three times and ran a survey.
We also collected pine wood nematodes there as a survey.
