About

We are a team who aspires to contribute to the field of science to improve the quality of life of people.

Kelvin Suriyaputra

Leader

Kelvin is a 3rd year student studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NTU. He has been contributing to the Rad52 project by regularly maintaining cell lines and conducting experiments such as transfection and flow cytometry. The iGEM project at NTU is Kelvin’s first research project and he has found it to be eye-opening experience as he has gained valuable insights into the research sector. Kelvin has a curious nature and is keen on learning how to use Biology to solve common problems and medical issues in the world.

Danny Teo

Project Truncation Expert

Danny is a 4th year student pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at NTU. He has been working on the Truncation project in the NTU iGEM team since 2016. He has a Diploma in Biotechnology as well and has keen interest research. ~ Biologial Sciences, Final Year Student

Dam Linh Chi

EGFR Project Expert

Linh Chi is a 3rd year student at NTU studying Biological Science and has been a part of the NTU iGEM Team since June 2017. She has taken part in the therapeutics (EGFR) project by maintaining multiple cell lines like A549, PC9 and H3255. FACS and T7E assays have also been part of her regular work in the NTU iGEM team. Linh Chi feels she has gained a lot of exposure through this project and it has helped hone her laboratory skills. "

Jaclyn Lee

EGFR Project Expert

Jaclyn is a 3rd year student studying Engineering Science with a specialization in Bioengineering. Jaclyn started working on the therapeutics (EGFR) project in September 2016 as her URECA and continued working on it for iGEM. She has worked on multiple techniques like plasmid cloning and transfection in the PC9 cell line. Jaclyn has tremendously enjoyed working on this project and has found it an extremely enriching experience.

Kasturi Markandran

HDR Project & Wiki Design

Kasturi is a recent graduate of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering. She has gained insights about genetics and the Crispr/Cas system through iGEM and she holds the belief that the Crispr/Cas system is a prominent tool in today’s healthcare industry. She has a keen interest in translational medicine research as a therapeutic to enhance people’s wellbeing.

Ng Hsin Yueh

EGFR Project Expert

Hsin-Yueh is a 3rd year student pursuing Bioengineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She has been a part of the NTU iGEM team since August 2017 and has assisted in conducting research on the therapeutics (EGFR) project. She has assisted in techniques such as tranfection, FACS and T7E assays. She is keen on learning more about the applications of the Crispr/Cas 9 system as therapeutics for various diseases.

Avneet Kaur

Project Truncation Expert

Avneet is a recent graduate from NTU with a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering and has been a part of the NTU iGEM Team since June 2017. She has contributed to the Truncation project in the NTU iGEM Team by performing experiments such as PCR, qPCR, transfection and regular maintenance of cells. She has also assisted in doing write-ups for the NTU iGEM webpage. Avneet would like to deepen her understanding about the Crispr/Cas 9 system and its potential in research and healthcare. She has learnt valuable laboratory techniques through the project and remains grateful to iGEM for the opportunity to have taken part in it.

Meliana Chen

Computational Biology Expert

Meliana is currently a Final year student at NTU pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering. She has been contributing to the Computational Biology sector of the iGEM project at NTU. She would like to develop a deeper understanding and more specialised skills in Computational Biology.

Denyse

Computational Biology Expert

Denyse is in her third year in NTU reading Biological Sciences.

Kar Ming

lab rat

Kar Ming is a 3rd year student studying Bachelor’s degree Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NTU. He is working on the Truncation project, interlab study and collaboration experiment with Macquarie University.
