Beyond iGEM UPMC- Paris 2017

As we are coming to the end of our participation to the iGEM competition, we wanted to make a quick sum up of what is going to be the after iGEM for us.

Our project, The BioMaker Factory have created a lot of enthusiasm from our backers, our teachers back at the university and finally our counselors. We clearly understand that our project was ambitious, and therefore the sole time of the competition probably wasn’t enough. Therefore, we want to install and root more deeply our project, by working together with the institutions that supported us, like the iPEPS from the ICM institute or the SATT Lutech society for our experiments and our University for the mechanical part. This way in the same time our engineers improve our prototype, we are working on the establishment of the clearest business plan possible that will give us objectives and insight for the coming years and will ensure to our future invertors and partners the credibility of our project. In fact, this business plan is actually being developed by our Human Practices team. We think that our project goal is too essential to be just a student fantasy.

Besides the ongoing of our project we want to anchor the iGEM competition in our University.

We have thus presented the competition, the project of the two UPMC teams who took part to iGEM and the synthetic biology to students of different levels of Molecular and Cellular Biology and Mechanical Engineering courses.

In result, we will be organizing the new team and giving them advices during the progress of their project, give us the opportunity to meet our backers and to use the facility that was offer to us to manipulate. With this new team we want our university to be a dynamic center for the innovation on synthetic biology.
