Meet the Team!
Cyrillus Tan
A senior student at Emory College majoring in biology and computer science. While his research interest is to reform the personalized medicine with information technology, he is also a student of international economics concerning with modern business model. He intends to pursue a doctoral degree in biomedical informatics after graduation.
Davin Lama
Currently a senior at Emory College majoring in Biology. Interested in applying biotechnology research towards creating more sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Enjoys catching spiders and making music in his free time
Mone Anzai
Currently a junior at Emory College majoring in biology and psychology. Interested in mental health issues, and research relating to the influence of environmental factors and genetics on susceptibility to mental health. Enjoys baking, playing with dogs, and volunteering in her free time.
Daniel Won
A junior in the Emory College of Arts and Science, Daniel is majoring in Chemistry. He is interested in research and thought that iGEM was a great way to explore what academic research like. He is also interested in pursuing Dentistry after graduating college. His hobbies are traveling to new places, eating great food, and getting to meet new people.
Kathy Li
A junior in Emory’s College of Arts and Sciences, Kathy is majoring in biology and music. She is deeply involved in research at Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute and hopes to pursue a medical degree after college while continuing to do research. Her passions and hobbies include playing music, mentoring, and learning about different cultures of the world.
Sujith Swarna
A junior in Emory’s College of Arts and Sciences, Sujith is majoring in neuroscience and behavioral biology. He is interested in the neural substrate of memory and how it can be manipulated to accelerate learning. He likes to play his piano and guitar, workout, and read whatever he can get his hands on.
Michael Hwang
Michael is junior at Emory college studying biology and chemistry. His current interest lies in cardiomyocyte regeneration and proliferation after heart injury for clinical application, and learning cutting-edge research techniques and ideas, which includes synthetic biology, to help alleviate any kind of human suffering/improve people’s overall quality of life. He also spends time at a nearby cancer institute as student volunteer. On his free time, he enjoys playing squash, watching movies, having good food and spending time with friends.
