Why did you join iGEM? Dr. Mayi and I met at an SoTL meeting (Science of Teaching and Learning) and she asked me to write a PURE application for a student on the 2016 team, which I did. The student Nilesh Sharma got his PURE so I decided to go and watch the weekly meetings as a mentor. I found it to be a valuable experience and so when I was asked to take part in 2017 as an Instructor I happily said yes. I really liked watching how the students worked over the summer.
