University of Calgary iGEM Team

At the beginning of the season, our team was more focused on the cost analysis aspect of our project. In collaboration with the University of Calgary iGEM Team, several University of Calgary students specializing in cost analysis, assisted us with a cost analysis for our project. A Skype Interview was initially conducted with their team. During the discussion, we learned a number of pointers in doing a cost analysis. As well, they provided a few suggestions. For example, they advised us to contact the Pili Pen Company from France to learn a bit more about their business. Pili Pen is currently our largest competition as they also produce biological inks. We followed the Calgary Team’s advice, and are now awaiting a reply from the company. We are also one of the participants in their Canada-wide newsletter distribution. We will be submitting an article focusing on our project every month till November.
