Welcome to the iGEM wiki for the University of Southern Denmark. As our contribution to this years iGEM competition, the project we are working on relates to green energy through bioelectricity. The idea is, that two cultures of e. coli will be biogenetically engineered to gather, store and conduct electricity. The first of these cultures will be designed to harvest energy from the sun, and store it as glucose. The second cultures purpose will be to convert the stored glucosis into conductive electricity on command. For the iGEM competition we are working on this as a proof of concept.
