The goal of this year’s iGEM Team Heidelberg is to provide an evolutionary toolbox to the synthetic biology community that is ready-to-use and easily accessible. The different parts, that it is comprised of, aim to harness the potential of the accelerated optimization and novel production of a variety of proteins and bio-compounds. Following, we present our favorite basic parts BBa_K2398000, the cytochrome c protein for production of organosilicons as best basic part, and BBa_K2398555, the organosillicon-sensing riboswitch.
