Special Thanks
GeneHackers members completed all of the wetlab work, research designs, and project documentation with supervision, feedback and advice from Professor Benjamin Glick (our PI); Jason Casler, Kasey Day, and DJ (our graduate student advisors); Steve Dvorkin and Allison Scott (Co-Presidents of GeneHackers, not on the summer team). GeneHackers members also built our wiki page and assembled our Jamboree poster and presentation with assistance from those mentioned above.
We used laboratory protocols developed by the GeneHackers team as well as by iGEM and the Glick laboratory.
The University of Chicago Office of Research Safety provided us with online biosafety training.
DNA sequencing was performed for us by UChicago’s Comprehensive Cancer Center DNA Sequencing Facility.
DNA was synthesized for us by IDT and Genscript.
Much thanks to the Glick lab for allowing us to use their laboratory space and equipment during the summer.

Promega
Promega is a global leader in the manufacturing of enzymes and other products for biotechnology and molecular biology. They have a portfolio of more than 3,000 products covering the fields of genomics, protein analysis and expression, cellular analysis, drug discovery and genetic identity.
The Univeristy of Chicago Biological Sciences Collegiate Division
The Biological Sciences Collegiate Division (BSCD) is the home to the biological sciences curriculum at the University of Chicago. The College believes that knowledge of biology is essential for understanding ourselves and the world in which we live. The BSCD, therefore, provides a variety of biology courses for all College students, prospective biologists and non-biologists alike.
The University of Chicago Institute for Molecular Engineering
The Institute for Molecular Engineering will lead engineering research and education in new directions, solve major technological problems of global significance, and continually inspire creative applications of molecular-level science.
Our mission is to translate advances in basic physics, chemistry, biology and computation into new tools to address important societal problems and, to create a research and teaching environment to enhance and transmit these capabilities from scientific generation to generation.
