• 1st Day of Lab!
• Moved materials into lab
• Set up meeting with Dr. French about cloning vectors
• Selected Building with Biology Activities for Maker’s Faire
5/31:
• Look up protocols for common lab procedures
• Made outreach packets for elementary schools
• Learned how to use iLab to order our supplies
• Wet lab meeting with Dr. French about our project- many issues with feasibility discussed.
• Team meeting to discuss Maker’s Faire outreach and takeaways from meeting with Dr. French
6/01:
• Need to reformulate project objectives, look for new bacteriocins
6/02
• Research into other possible bacteriocins for study
Week 2: 6/05 - 6/09
Researching the mode of action of bacteriocins and which bacteriocins we could use to make our hybrids
Week 3: 6/12 - 6/16
• Designed the constructs for our inserts, both tagged and untagged.
• Made sure they will properly clone into our MBP, GST, and SUMO vectors.
• Prepped for Maker’s Faire by transforming and plating GFP E. Coli to say iGEM!
• Gathered materials to start our project.
• Ordered our constructs through IDT!
