Description

We used bacteria as a bio-cleaner to eliminate pollution caused by leaked oil. We have successed transducing oil degradation genes like C23O, Alk,Led, into Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and had a good degradation effect. However, Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a conditional pathogen which may cause severe disease when human immunity decreased. Besides, bacteria in common use, such as, E.coli, Yeast or Lactobacillus are not having an ideal degradation effect. Therefore, we are now looking for an alternative chassis to take place Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
We intend to use oil degradation bacteria we found in literature as our chassis. Genes mentioned above may have a good expression in a oil degradation bacteria, such as, B.subtilis. This kind of bacteria is permitted to be used.
We also plan to use bacteria, which is close to Pseudomonas aeruginosa based on microbial taxonomy as our chassis to promote our oil degradation effect.
