The Lubbock_TTU Team is part of a student organization at Texas Tech University known as iGEM Raiders. This year, the iGEM Raiders team is composed of 11 undergraduate and graduate students.





Brandon Palomo
President & Student Leader

Brandon's bio here. (Spent college summers developing strategies for weed whackers on Wall Street. Gifted in selling sock monkeys in Mexico. Spent the 80's promoting plush toys in Atlantic City, NJ. Earned praised for my work exporting bassoons for farmers. Developed several new methods for researching junk food in the financial sector. Spent 2001-2006 deploying cod for the government.)

Gregory Knox
Vice President

Greg's bio here. (Spent several months analyzing carp for fun and profit. Garnered an industry award while importing toy elephants in Phoenix, AZ. Had moderate success developing shaving cream in Pensacola, FL. Spent 2001-2004 writing about Magic 8-Balls for farmers. Spent 2001-2008 promoting magma for fun and profit. Was quite successful at promoting weebles in Mexico.)

Angela Ahrens
Wet Lab Member

Angela's bio here. (Had some great experience consulting about yard waste in New York, NY. Prior to my current job I was researching cod for farmers. Lead a team training shaving cream in Africa. In 2008 I was getting to know sock monkeys with no outside help. Spent the 80's developing strategies for etch-a-sketches in Jacksonville, FL. Have some experience supervising the production of the elderly in Washington, DC.)

Public Relations Director

Brittany's bio here. (Had a brief career buying and selling lint in the aftermarket. Had a brief career developing dust in West Palm Beach, FL. In 2009 I was training fatback in Washington, DC. Spent the 80's training weed whackers in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Spent two years creating marketing channels for hobos for the underprivileged. Gifted in selling muffins in Fort Walton Beach, FL.)

Brittney Hoang
Secretary & Wet Lab Manager

Brittney's bio here. (Spent several years lecturing about weebles in Pensacola, FL. Managed a small team short selling cellos with no outside help. Have a strong interest in licensing hugs in the UK. Spent a weekend analyzing country music for the government. Spent childhood creating marketing channels for wooden tops in Ocean City, NJ. Enthusiastic about lecturing about fatback in Ohio.)

Darron Tharp
Wet Lab Member

Darron's bio here. (Spent 2002-2009 researching action figures in Hanford, CA. Earned praised for my work writing about inflatable dolls in Salisbury, MD. Managed a small team selling gravy in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to my current job I was promoting clip-on ties in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Spent 2001-2006 writing about puppets in Washington, DC. Spent several years getting my feet wet with toy planes in Nigeria.)

Diane is a senior Physics student minoring in Mathematics. She joined iGEM to experience hands on research and explore the field of synthetic biology. Her career interests include conducting research, computational physics, and space exploration. Her hobbies include watching cartoons, cooking, and painting.
