The app we built was vital in calculating the concentration of methanol or antibiotics present in a sample. It generated a picture from the output of the slider device and measured either the red or green values of the picture. We formulated a model, which was calibrated with multiple samples, with which the app can instantly predict the concentration of the substance it’s testing for. An easy to read scale displays the concentration along with the meaning of the concentration and whether or not it complies with national guidelines. With the help of the Computer Science department, we were able to develop an app for both iOS and Android. The app provides an easy to use, quick and affordable method of calculating the concentration of methanol or antibiotics in any sample.
