Generally, most of them have the main shortages that are high calories and bad taste even though they might be very sweet. We want to design a signal conduction pathway bases on the human sweetness receptors and construct the pathway in yeast. However, the most important thing is biological safety. In our project, the laboratorial microorganisms we want to use are routine microorganisms, such as <i>Saccharomyces cerevisiae</i> and <i>Escherichia coli</i>. The sweet receptor protein we want to use is T1R2/T1R3. Both of the hosts and proteins are safe. We also communicated with Dr. Yang about the details of safety of the project.</p>
