Frost resistant tecnology within frost intolerant crops
Every year, millions of dollars worth of produce is damaged or destroyed due to frost. Despite this, many producers are still left to use costly, and often ineffective, methods of frost avoidance.
We wanted to give plants the power to stave off the cold, by making resistance to frost intrinsic. We hope, that as the world's population grows, our project can become a part of the shift to using transgenic crops in sustainable and reliable food production.
This is the SECA NZ iGEM Project for 2017.
