Science is not an isolate entity. It always has close relationship with society and social issues, thus our project design requires a thorough social interaction. Social interactions in human practice have been a cornerstone of our scientific methods from the very beginning.Our human practice can be divided into three main parts:
Engagement and education
We held a lecture with Prof. Zhihao Li, an expert in cognitive science and brain imaging, to promote interdisciplinary communication between different fields. We also educated the junior high school students from Sichuan Province on synthetic biology.
Communication.
Communicating seminar with psychology professor enlightened us to improve our behavioristics experiment design.
Collaboration
Through collaboration with two high school iGEM teams, we made great efforts to lower the barrier in iGEM for high school students, by helping them with plasmid subcloning and dealing with inclusion body in protein engineering.
