Achievement
MODELLING
We used modelling in three ways to inform different parts of our project: cost estimation, predicting the operating characteristics of our phosphate starvation operon, and to identify the optimal conditions for the expression of our enzyme and microcompartment.

ENTERPRISE
Our integrated business plan was shaped by interactions with experts in the water industry. We considered international markets for Phosphostore, beyond the local water industry, which helped us focus on Canadian wastewater treatment plants as a promising target. Our competitor analysis informed us on current phosphate removal technologies and potential roadblocks. Our company plan was shaped by exploratory research on scaling-up, which guided our modelling to estimate production costs and economic feasibility.
