After several online contacts, we could finally have a chance to meet SIAT-SCIE. Our first workshop was held in July, at SUSTech.

In the collaboration with SIAT-SCIE, we held a workshop to communicate our projects. We also help them with the molecular experiment.

First half part of the workshop was about introducing our own project, and we prepared a brief speech on our design and some backgroud knowledge like microinjection and microfluidics. After our presentation, SIAT-SCIE also proposed their idea about the project and showed some supporting papers.More than project communication itself, we also deeply communicated about how to manage such a project totally on our own as undergtaduates and high school students. Dividing team into smaller groups and having group meeting every three days could coordinate work progress and form a good working pattern, which was the most important thing in overall.

Besides idea exchanging, collaboration was also meaningful by giving help to other iGEM teams which were facing difficulties. When we learned about the difficulties they faced on subcloning, we taught them some experimence and skills about plasmid construction and helped SIAT-SCIE construct their core plasmid in their project.

In the early July, Shenzhen_SFLS contacted us and wanted to get instruction on modeling and problems they were facing in their protein engineering project. In their protein engineering project, they found their interest protein was coated in inclusion body by BL21. So they cannot extract enough protein out of engineering bacteria. Otherwise they have to entrust biotechnology company to synthesize protein, which is unaffordable to them.

Besides exchanging ideas, collaboration was also meaningful by giving help to other iGEM teams, who faced difficulties. For example, we taught them how to construct plasmid for subcloning and helped SIAT-SCIE construct their core plasmid in their project.

We also participated in South China iGEMer Meeting up held by SIAT-SCIE. The aim of this meeting up was iGEM team communication between high school. We also attend the meeting up and shared our ideas with other high school teams.
