Entering A Whole New Universe Of Applications!
FmocFF
is a molecule
that selfassembles
upon pH drop.
You can build up small
spheres with it! They are
called
Peptidosomes.
Microbes
have so
many powerful properties!
Can
molecules pass the
membrane
to reach our microbes?
And both ways together
would enable
communication
between
co
-
cultured
but seperatly trapped
microbes!
Maybe we can even
attach something to
the surface?
Using
Bacillus subtilis
we show the
many possibilities
peptidosomes offer.
We could build
Biosensors!
And what about the
other way around?
Secretion
as a
production method
using peptidosomes!
Let's build a
toolbox
that makes
secretion easier for
everybody to find
out!
The TU Dresden
iGEM team aims to
explore a completely
novel platform of
encapsulating
microbes.
Let's see,
how we can
bring
chemistry
and
biology
together!

Do microbes
survive
,
grow
and
stay inside
peptidosomes?
