We developed PREDCEL to enable phage-assisted directed evolution in batch mode that is much easier to handle and less expensive compared to the original PACE method. We demonstrate the feasibility of our technology on a protein-interaction experiment based on the split T7 polymerase and in evolving the enzyme cytochrome P450 1A2.
