Although some unexpected difficulties arise in the process of experiments, mutual help among teams can help each other get through. We got many helps from other iGEM teams and professors so that we can overcome some difficulties. We are extremely fortunate to make friends with Xiamen University(XMU) iGEM team, they were very generous and gave us plasmid E0020,E0040 and E0010 which we were seeking for. We also gave a helping hand to iGEM teams in need as much as we can.

It's the first year for Shandong University(SDU)to participate in iGEM. And it's Tongji's 4^th year. We had many communications about the team management，iGEM requirements and what iGEM really is. In the process we became very good friends.

This year SDU's project focuses on the treatment of tumors by replacing the mutated p53. 2016 Tongji iGEM team also focused on cnacer thearpy with some parts containing p53. Therefore SDU team asked for two parts BBa_K1922003(wt p53) and BBa_K1922006(htERT-p53)to go further test. We shared what we knew and some experiences of operating p53 in experiment. We send two samples fugw vector and htERT-GFP plasmid which containing htERT promoter to them.

We checked the samples carefully and wrote instructions in order to make it easier for them to follow. Some of the information are as follows:

This summer we take part in the 4^th CCiC which held by Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.It has been 10 years for iGEM to be introduced into China.Not only our 2017 iGEMers, but many SynBio researchers in China who had participated in iGEM before also attend. We even have the opportunity to make a face to face communication with iGEM Headquarters King L.CHOW and Kenneth Oye. At the meeting we show our Ignis Fly project and share experiences with each other. What an amazing experience!

The 2^nd Open Night Live was held to showcase the iGEM teams in Shanghai and to give people an opportunity to exchange ideas and ask questions to every iGEM member. It was an honor for us to invite Fudan_China, Shanghaitech, STJU_BioX_Shanghai and ECUST to our Open Night Live.

We were delighted to find out that there were more and more college students watching our OPEN NIGHT and asking questions. Some audience members even made a few suggestions on what more our project could do, and we added the parts we thought were reasonable. There was a symposium among iGEM teams after the Open Night Live where we exchanged ideas. We also set up a live webcast and gave Open Night Live to iGEM teams in other provinces. It's really an unforgettable experience that we meet members of other iGEM team directly and interact together with more iGEM teams on the internet!
