Here we use the modified Gal4-UAS system, which is a commonly used heterotopic expression system in fruit fly genetics, to realize the ubiquitous expression of Dopamine in fruit fly. </p>

The Project

There are many people who die of diseases that are spread by mosquitoes such as malaria, dengue fever and Zika. According to a WHO’s report, there are 429,000 deaths from malaria occurred in 2015. With our project we hope to help them.

We had the idea for our project after we found an article reporting that pharmacological manipulation of dopamine levels could alter the sexual behaviour of fruits flies.
